Lord, we pray for the safety and quick return home for all of our men and women in the armed services. We offer them strength and support through our prayers.
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them.” Mark 11:24
Father, we pray for your strength and direction every day. Each day is a struggle, but through our faith in Christ, we face our challenges with the knowledge that we do not stand alone in our battles. We know that You are with us each step of the way. Please lead us from the darkness of despair and calm our fears through your love and our devotion.
“… Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; … You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.” Ps. 23
Lord God, creator of man and all things, we pray that our hearts are true and faithful to Your Word. Please help us to follow Your Word and become one with Your Body and Spirit. We glorify and sanctify your name above all other things, and we recognize your presence in our daily lives. Through our faith, we ask that you bless our families and friends and forgive us our sins. Amen.
“There is one body and one Spirit, … one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and one Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and is in you all” (Eph. 5:14)
Jesus, we pray that we may find the truth of our existence in Christ. Let us recognize through our faith that all things of the Earth are transient and that our vanity is nothing but a sack cloth worn over our foolish pride. We pray that we may find a way to serve you every day and that we may strive to become better men and women by reaching out and helping those in need.
“For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet, I am among you as the One who serves. ” (Luke 22:27)
“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall seek God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ” (Matt. 5:3-10)
Lord of our salvation; please open our eyes and our hearts this day to the children of the world who are suffering without homes, without parents, and without nourishment of both body and Spirit. Let us rest not until we have done everything in our power to provide them with safety and love. Empower us through our prayers to receive nothing for ourselves until we have first sought the same for all of the innocent children of God.
“ Whoever receives one of these little children in My Name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me but Him who sent Me.” (Mark 9:37)
Lord Jesus, let us honor our love for you in the quiet of our hearts. And let our words and deeds not be shared for our sake but only for the sake of our faith in you. Please look upon us in your grace and direct our words and deeds that they may be delivered in honest adoration of our Father’s great and abundant love for us. We ask this each day through the glory of your name, Amen.
“ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. ” (Luke 6:45)
Father, we pray that we may gain perspective in our lives and come to understand and accept that the reasoning of man is nothing before the Word of God. Please help us to see and hear, not with our eyes and ears, but only with our hearts that are true to our faith in the Lord. Forgive us for our sins and cast off our vain thoughts in the same manner that the vintner discards the sour grapes that will poison the sweet taste of his wine.
“ All flesh is grass, and all of its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever. ” (Is. 40:6-8)
Father, we are born through your love. Let us surrender ourselves to the truth of your Word and let the love of Jesus Christ empower us to see the truth and love that we too possess in our faith. Please help us to be strong and to remain firm in our convictions so that we may walk only the paths to righteousness. We humble ourselves before you. Through your love, and in accordance with your will, we dedicate each day of our lives in praise of your glory and in honor of the sanctity of your holy name.
“Beloved ... whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ...God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. ” (1 John 4:15, 16)
Father, together we pray that our love, as between husband and wife, is true to our commitment in faith. We recognize that this gift of marriage is a gift from Jesus the Christ. Our love, our hopes and dreams, our blessings, and our dedication to each other are a testament to our savior. As one in marriage, one in flesh, and one in our boundless love, we pledge to walk in the light that has been bestowed upon us by our Father in heaven.
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her … For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones … For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. ” (Eph. 5:25, 30)
Jesus, please give us the strength and wisdom to listen to your Word. Let our mouths know silence while speaking to you only from our heart. Let us vow before God only those things that we are prepared to do as a living sacrifice to your mercy, your grace and your love. Praise be to the Almighty God, forever and ever. Amen.
“Walk prudently when you go to the house of God; and draw near to hear rather than to give the sacrifice of fools … When you make a vow to God, do not delay to pay it … Pay what you have vowed. Better not to vow than to vow and not pay. ” (Eccl. 5:1, 4-5)
Lord Father, we pray that you share your wisdom with us as we struggle to affirm the value and importance of every innocent life born in Christ. Please hear our voices as we sing and praise your Glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed are those who save a life in your name. In your love, you have given each of us our spiritual and physical sustenance. In service to your name, let us now give our sustenance of life to all who share in the body of Christ. Amen. Amen.
“She is a tree of life to those who take hold of her. And happy are all who retain her.” (Proverbs 3:18)
